The color story of this photo…
The relaxed vibe of this fresh outdoor patio area…
The idea of a dinner party on the beach…
Hope you all had a great weekend! Saturday I went hiking with the fam, and yesterday, Memorial Day, though I did a bit of work during the day, I took a break from the never ending to-do list, and generally took it easy.
My husband had the day off from work so we both headed up to my parent’s house. My mom had set up the gazebo and outdoor furniture, my dad had the day off of work (which is a rare occasion since he usually works 7 days a week), and the weather was near perfect. We grilled, ate way too much and enjoyed a nice laid-back evening outside.
I know summer technically doesn’t start until June 21st, but days like this make it feel like summer. Looking forward to more days of dining alfresco, and very soon days spent at the beach and at the pool.
There’s something about wicker that just adds a lovely casual warmth to a space. Love it used in chairs for dining spaces both outdoors and in:
More wicker: baskets

Just had a chance to flip through my copy of the latest issue of C Magazine and was delighted to see featured this beautiful Hollywood Hills home. Especially loving the gorgeous outdoor living area and the living room with big windows and views of the green garden. I think they shall be the newest additions to my dream home inspiration file.

Yesterday we took advantage of the beautiful sunny weather and had a backyard bbq to celebrate two things: my dad’s birthday, and my sister’s (and her now officially husband!) court marriage (the big wedding is next Saturday).
We had so much yummy food – shrimp, chicken, grilled veggies and corn, pasta salad, frijoles, carne asada, pico de gallo… not to mention dessert! I took a stab at making a rainbow cake. Check out my twitter page to take look at how it turned out!
Looking forward to many more summer days spent outside
Have a wonderful weekend!
