Whenever I pick up an issue of InStyle Magazine, I always first flip to the back for the Life Etc. section. Any of you guys do that as well? I get excited when they feature something related to interior design, as was the case in this month’s issue which gave us a look inside Naya Rivera’s beautiful hillside home designed by Angelo Surmelis. I love that it is so light, open and airy, and incorporates a harmonious mix of traditional and modern:

When I first saw this photo at a quick glance, I thought, what a pretty kitchen with such a lovely view. Upon looking at it more closely though, I realized that what was above the stove was actually a large framed photograph giving the illusion of a window. Such a smart and creative idea for making a small space feel brighter, more spacious and serene.

One of the many things I enjoy about my job, is discovering talented new-to-me interior designers. I thought it’d be fun to spotlight them here on the blog as I’m sure many of you will also enjoy seeing their beautiful work and gain inspiration from it.
This week’s spotlight is on Jennifer Wundrow and Heather Brock, founders of their own firm -Nest Design Co. based in Sausalito, California. A selection of lovely spaces they’ve designed:
Did you drool over that reading nook and that kitchen? Yeah, me too. See more of their work here!
If you’ve followed me for some time, you may know about my obsession with French bistro chairs (just the other day instagrammed this photo). I always seem to be drawn to spaces incorporating this type of chair and have as a result collected a number of inspirational images:
French bistro chairs tend to be expensive and hard to find (they’re often sold just to those in the restaurant industry) so I was delighted to discover a budget-friendly source…Overstock! I don’t have any space in my current home for these, but when we get a larger place – perhaps with a breakfast nook or nice outdoor area, I’ll be getting some for sure. A little round-up below:

So delighted that our Raja Embroidery pillow was featured in Domaine Home as part of the ‘Get the Look’ portion of their post on interior designer Cynthia Collins’ home tour. Cynthia’s home is absolutely beautiful and her design aesthetic definitely resonates with me. Each space is bright and airy, yet cozy, with just the right dose of color.

Have you flipped through the latest issue of Adore Magazine yet? I was so honored to be featured alongside friends Irene and Erika in the Blog Loving section and also excited to see the spread featuring Erika’s gorgeous home. It perfectly reflects her style and was beautifully captured by talented photographer Sabra Lattos. Below are a few of my favorite shots:
Gold accents incorporated all throughout the home
Love how the crystal chandelier and gold knobs glam up the kitchen.
Erika included our Jungalow Jet pillows in her dining room!
Chic little corner
Fabulous inspiration board
This gorgeous kitchen has so many of the elements I’d want in my dream kitchen someday. A bright open layout, beautiful white cabinetry, marble countertops, a large island, white subway tiles, hardwood floors, a built-in bay window breakfast nook with views of the backyard greenery…
For a look at the cool built-in organizational features of the kitchen as well as before photos, check out the homeowner’s blog here.

Absolutely love the look of a marble herringbone backsplash in a white kitchen. These beauties are going in my dream home inspiration file:

I tend to be most drawn to kitchens that get great natural sunlight, so it’s no surprise I fell for these two:
